A Goodbye and Celebration of Life
It is an honour and privilege to be invited into the life story of so many wonderful people. I have laughed and cried at the precious memories that have been shared with me. It’s never easy when someone we love dies, and no one wants to talk about death. But a funeral can also be a moment to celebrate everything unique about them.
Together we can create a celebration unlike any other, remembering happy times and shared memories. Yes, you are grieving. But it’s also a chance to remember your loved one with dignity and respect.
Not everyone wants the same type of funeral. You or your loved one may not be religious, but you might still want a hymn or prayer. Together we will find just the right music and readings that encapsulate your loved one’s personality perfectly. Tributes and readings from friends and family are always welcomed and encouraged. Everything said at the funeral ceremony will come from love and with your approval. Afterwards I will prepare and send you a Keepsake Ceremony Folder of the full text of the ceremony.
Memorials
Maybe you have had a direct cremation, or a little time has passed, and you’d like to hold a memorial service. This can be a time to gather, more informally, including those who couldn’t join before.
This time, the day will be more relaxed, less stressful, at a venue of your choosing, where everyone gets the chance to say a few words and share memories. It could be a tree planting, a scattering of ashes or a get-together at a local pub. It’s the perfect setting to reflect on and remember your loved one.
Scattering of Ashes
An ash scattering ceremony is a deeply personal and beautiful way to say goodbye — a moment to celebrate the life of someone you love and release their ashes in a place that was special. With a little thought and preparation, together we can plan a ceremony that will be meaningful, memorable, heartfelt and dignified.
Pre-Written Funerals
More people are thinking about making plans for their own funerals, taking away the stress for their families. You can tell your own story, choose your favourite music, poems and readings. You might want a little help, and as a celebrant I can guide you through all your decisions and together we can write your celebration, and you’ll keep a copy. It can be a rewarding and comforting experience knowing that it will help your family in the future.
